Metro Manila, Philippines — Global Ferronickel Holdings, Inc. (PSE: FNI), one of the country’s largest nickel ore producers, once again demonstrated the strength and caliber of its in-house legal team after earning recognition at this year’s Asian Legal Business (ALB) Philippine Law Awards, held last October 8 at the Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.
FNI’s Atty. Reeno E. Febrero was named Young Lawyer of the Year (In-House)—a distinction that highlights both his individual excellence and the collective rigor of FNI’s legal department. The company also earned finalist citations in several prestigious categories, including:
- In-House Lawyer of the Year — Atty. Noel B. Lazaro
- In-House Woman Lawyer of the Year — Atty. Mary Louisse S. Inguillo
- Philippine In-House Team of the Year
- In-House Team of the Year (Construction and Real Estate)
- Innovative In-House Team of the Year
These accolades mark yet another milestone in FNI’s growing list of achievements. The company previously received top honors at the 2024 ALB Philippine Law Awards, 2024 In-House Community (IHC), and earlier this year at the 2025 ALB Southeast Asia Law Awards in Singapore, where it won In-House Team of the Year (Construction and Real Estate) and secured multiple finalist spots. These back-to-back distinctions underscore the consistency, integrity, and innovation that define FNI’s legal team.
“These honors belong to the whole of FNI—because our work is never just individual,” said FNI Chief Legal Counsel Atty. Noel B. Lazaro. “Every milestone we reach stands on the shoulders of teamwork, trust, and our shared belief that mining, when guided by purpose and progress, can truly serve communities and the nation.”
Earlier that day, Atty. Lazaro joined fellow general counsels and industry leaders as a panelist at the 2025 ALB Philippine In-House Legal Summit, held in the same venue. Speaking at the session “In-House Counsel’s Pivot: Expanding the GC’s Role Beyond the Legal Box,” he shared insights on how today’s corporate counsels are evolving into strategic business partners amid shifting geopolitical, regulatory, and technological landscapes.
The ALB Awards, organized by Thomson Reuters, celebrate the region’s most accomplished legal professionals and corporate law departments. FNI’s recognition across both national and regional platforms reaffirms its standing as one of the Philippines’ foremost models of in-house legal excellence and leadership.
