Platinum Group Metals Corporation (PGMC), through a partnership with the Alay Buhay Community Development Foundation, Inc., deploys a mobile clinic to support Tuberculosis (TB) screening in Region 13 (Caraga), in response to the urgent need for increased assessment and intervention as cases rise all over the country.
Through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) defining its use and purpose, the mobile clinic will aid in finding pathways to enable the vulnerable population to access treatment and enhance opportunities for decent work in the region. The said partnership strengthens PGMC’s and Alay Buhay’s shared commitment to supporting the Department of Health’s National Tuberculosis Control Program (DOH-NTP) and addresses challenges such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and socio-cultural factors that may impede effective TB eradication.
Equipped with advanced medical equipment, the mobile clinic will roll out across the region until December 31, 2026, offering free chest X-rays and ultrasound services to make essential healthcare accessible even in the most remote areas.
PGMC will also provide the foundation with information, whenever possible, on opportunities for conducting TB education and awareness during mass gatherings or assemblies.
“Working together with organizations like Alay Buhay highlights the critical role that private sector and non-profit collaboration play in supporting government effort to advance public health,” said Atty. Dante R. Bravo, PGMC President.
By partnering with Alay Buhay, PGMC aims to make a significant impact on the fight against TB and contribute to healthier and stronger communities in Caraga, as outlined in its continuing commitment to corporate social responsibility and support for the communities where the company operates, particularly in Claver, Surigao del Norte.
