Materiality

FNI’s materiality assessment follows the principles outlined by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This alignment ensures that we focus on the most significant economic, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues that impact our business and stakeholders.

In 2024, we conducted a comprehensive materiality assessment to identify and prioritize key sustainability topics that are essential to our long-term strategy. The process involved collaboration across multiple departments to ensure diverse and informed perspectives. We also engaged stakeholders through a management validation session, which provided a balance between external expectations and internal priorities.

Through this approach, we identified material topics that reflect our commitment to sustainable operations, environmental stewardship, employee well-being, and community development. These material topics serve as the foundation for our sustainability initiatives and reporting, ensuring we address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in our industry. The material topics identified for this reporting period are presented in the diagram below, guiding our efforts to create long-term value while promoting responsible and ethical business practices as aligned with the UN-SDGs.
